What is EMDR
EMDR is a researched method of treatment that can be utilized to treat trauma, depression, anxiety, and a variety of other issues. EMDR is a structured model that incorporates cognitive and mind-body approaches along with bilateral stimulation in a goal to process information and resolve distress around specific memories, thoughts, or feelings.
Research indicates that in 3-6 sessions EMDR can resolve distress related to a single incident trauma.
Clients in my practice comment about how helpful EMDR has been for them. Many feel that EMDR has helped them resolve painful memories. Others feel it has helped them gain new insights that talk therapy has not been able to help them with.
